On the Verification of Identity of the Creditor who ask us to collect its claims

According to “Rules Concerning Verification of Client Identity and Retention of Records” of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations, attorneys are required to verify the identity of the client in certain cases.
We will confirm the creditor’s identity as follows when accepting debt collection of 2 million yen or more.

1. Individual:
PDF of the page of his/her passport containing his/her photo, name, passport number, etc.

2. Corporation:
PDF of the company register or register of the corporation and
PDF of the page of its responsible party’s passport containing his/her photo, name, passport number, etc.

＊We may ask you to submit other documents.
＊The creditor whose identity we have confirmed within 5 years do not need the procedure of verification of identity.
